Casa Gerania is a small villa located in a village on a hillside overlooking the Mediterranean Sea near Salobrena. It has stunning day time views and at night the beautiful coastline and the floodlit ancient castle of Salobrena offer the perfect setting for dining and drinking wine on the top terrace. The villa is private but not isolated and is five minutes drive from the small village of La Caleta and ten minutes away from the market town of Salobrena. This part of the Costa Tropical enjoys 320 days of sunshine each year and has the warmest winter climate in Europe. It is for this reason it is the only sugar cane growing region in Europe with its only working sugar cane factory in nearby La Caleta.
The villa is ideal for couples who want a quiet break, where they can relax, read, enjoy the views and experience the ‘real Spain’. In this region there is the historic town of Granada, the Alhambra and countless small villages and towns along the Costa Tropical. It is removed from the spoilt and over-developed Costa del Sol and yet enjoys a warmer winter climate. In addition to the local beaches, the mountains of the Appujara and the Sierra Nevada (30 minutes away) offer spectacular walking, bird watching, and photography. Casa Gerania is within 40 minutes travelling time from Granada airport (Ryanair), 70 minutes from Malaga airport (BA, Easyjet, and most international and charter carriers), and 90 minutes from Almeria (Easyjet, BA, and Ryanair).
The villa offers comfortable and manageable facilities, consisting of two bedrooms, a large sitting room, kitchen, bathroom, utility room and two outside terraces. It has the usual facilities of cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Two local residents and a maintenance person are on call in case of any emergencies.
Casa Gerenia is available for both short and long term lets. In order that guests can obtain the cheapest possible flights, arrival and departure times at the villa are flexible. This is in contrast to many holiday lets when fixed arrival/departure times compel guests to purchase the most expensive flights, eliminating any savings they may make on their villa rentals.
